World-Class Teaching

World-Class Teaching intends to develop teachers’ capacity to bring Global Learning into the classroom in a more systematic way.

We need you

LeedsDEC would like to invite teachers to join our Subject Focus Groups! The project targets secondary schools teachers of six subjects (geography, foreign language, history with civics, biology/science, & up to 2 other country-specific subjects). It supports and empowers them to deliver quality Global Education within their curricula by offering teaching materials and training programmes which facilitate their use.

Phase 1 aims at developing a comprehensive framework for Global Learning in secondary schools which will allow for more systematic inclusion of global perspective and approaches into selected subjects.

Phase 2 concentrates on developing teaching materials within subject working-groups set-up for this purpose and composed of teachers, Global Learning experts and subject experts. Materials will be inspired by the input provided by the project associates from Benin and Brazil.

Phase 3 will offer in-service teacher training supporting those interested in using the materials developed on the previous stage of the project. A certification scheme is also foreseen for the teachers going through the trainings.
